WHO DRIVES THE SALT LAKE PARTY BIKE?
We provide a sober “driver” who steers and brakes the thing, so you can have an amazing experience around beautiful downtown Salt Lake City on the bike.
CAN YOU DRINK ALCOHOL ON THE SALT LAKE PARTY BIKE?
Legally, not at this time. After all we do live in Utah and consuming alcohol in public is strictly prohibited. Even though drinking is not allowed yet, it is still a lot of fun!
CAN WE HAVE FUN ON THE BIKE IF NONE OF OUR GROUP DRINKS?
YES! It’s loads of fun! We have plenty of stops and routes that non drinkers have enjoyed with us in the past. It’s best to let your driver know when he/she gives you a call a few days before the ride.
HOW MANY PEOPLE RIDE/PEDAL?
The Salt Lake Party Bike can carry up to 15 people. There are 5 seats with pedals on each side plus the 2 non-pedaling seats above the back wheels. There is a bench that seats 3 people.
WHAT IS THE LEAST AMOUNT OF PEOPLE REQUIRED TO RIDE THE SALT LAKE PARTY BIKE?
We would suggest at least 8 or more people to make it comfortable but don’t worry, we’ve never had a group that couldn’t get around due to pedaling difficulty.
WHAT ARE THE AVAILABLE ROUTES FOR THE SALT LAKE PARTY BIKE?
We found that in our experience groups just pick two or three of the spots they want to go to and we’ll pick the safest and best route.
CAN THE PARTY BIKE GO UP HILLS?
YES! Salt Lake City has hills downtown but in the 2-1/2 years of our previous experience with Pedal Hopper we never had to push that bike uphill. Routes with grades greater than 5-6% for any extended distance may require riders to get off and push. None of the hills on our regular routes have required pushing. Yet!?!
WHAT ARE THE HOURS OF OPERATION?
12:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
WHY DON’T YOU DO LATER OR LONGER RIDES?
Because we want you to start your afternoon or evening with us not finish it!
WHERE DO WE START THE TOUR?
This depends which starting location you choose. Please check meeting spot details in your confirmation email. Just make sure to get the group there at least 20 minutes before departure time.
DOES THE PARTY BIKE SUPPLY FOOD AND DRINKS?
No. You bring whatever you plan on eating or drinking.
HOW AND WHEN DO I PAY?
All bookings must be paid in advance. If you’d like to pay cash or or put a deposit down, please call us to reserve your spot, we will need to hold your credit card to be charged only if you don’t show up or cancel within 2 weeks of departure date. The majority of our bookings are done through our website with a credit card, our processing system is very secure. Feel free to call us and book over the phone as well.
WHAT IF I WANT TO CANCEL/RESCHEDULE?
If for some reason you really need to cancel (we can’t imagine why!), the renter has the choice of receiving a 50% refund or a rain check valid for 3 months, if the cancellation is 30 or more days prior to the outing date . Cancellations less than 30 days will receive a rain check valid for 3 months only. Cancellations less than 14 days. Sorry! No refund or rain check.
HOW FAST DOES THE PARTY BIKE GO?
It just depends on the terrain usually between 5-10 mph. The only thing we go faster than are motorized wheel chairs, people walking slow, snails, and tortoises!
WHO SHOULD RENT THE PARTY BIKE?
Groups that like to have fun, pub crawl, singles wards, fraternities, sororities, bachelor/bachelorette parties, tailgaters, parades- (we are an instant float!), singles mixers, company outings, picnics, family reunions, whatever you can think of! My favorite was the spin class!
WHO SHOULD NOT RENT THE SALT LAKE PARTY BIKE?
If you do not like the outdoors, or hate anything resembling exercise while you are having fun, or don’t want to be seen in a 15 person bike around town then it’s not for you. Keep in mind we have a 265 pound weight limit per seat.
WHAT IF IT’S COLD AND RAINY THE DAY OF THE TOUR?
The Party Bike operates rain or shine. We live in Utah, we can dress for the weather! It’s actually fun when it rains, groups have a great time. There is a roof on the bike so you won’t get too wet. If the weather is too severe, it is at our drivers discretion to call you a couple hours before the outing and cancel. You will receive a rain check good for 3 months. There will be no rain checks once the outing has begun.
WHAT IF OUR TOUR TAKES TOO LONG?
You will be charged a late fee if you do not return the Party Bike to the starting point on time. The time it takes to complete a outing is up to the people pedaling. The driver does not have pedals.

No not really. Our season runs from March to November. The bike doesn’t have snow tires. Exceptions can be made so give us a call, You never know what the weather will be like in Utah.
WHO CAN RIDE?
You must be 18 or older to ride the Party Bike, if you are going on a pub crawl we require all riders to be at least 21. ID required!
HAS THERE BEEN ANY PROBLEMS WITH PEOPLE FALLING OFF?
We have never had a problem or anything close to it in the 2-1/2 years we worked for the last company. We never had an injury. There is a bar for you to hang onto and if you remember how fast we go then scroll back up and read that section again.
WHAT’S UP WITH THE LIABILITY WAIVER AND OFFERING BIKE HELMETS?
Riding the Party Bike can be a dangerous activity, just like riding any bike. You should have a reasonable expectation that you could possibly fall off and scrape your knee.
We offer bike helmets because it’s the smart thing to do. You don’t have to wear one—that’s totally up to you. We have you sign a liability waiver to accept responsibility just in case you bump your head.
CAN I MAKE MY OWN ROUTE FOR THE PARTY BIKE?
If it is within our travel path, maybe. Our drivers carefully map out a route taking into consideration streets that are not too steep, safe to travel down and under 30mph with lots of room for cars to get by us. We can go anywhere on the travel path we have marked on our route map. Warning some places are harder to get to than others. Check with your driver for advice.
SHOULD I TIP MY DRIVER?
Gratuity and Tips are NOT included in the price of your tour. Please tip according to your level of satisfaction.
CAN I WEAR SANDALS OR OPEN TOED SHOES ON THE PARTY BIKE?
No! It’s just not a good idea. Sandals fall off and then you or someone else has to go retrieve them in the street. Which is a bad idea! This is highly discouraged!
